"Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge"
The whole world seemed to freeze as he was hugging his wife again. Oh, how he missed this. He knew this where he belonged, in his beautiful wife's arms. He was so close to losing it all he's so grateful that he even made it home in one piece. While in his wife's arms he felt safe and relieved as if no one could hurt him or his family ever again.
"Oh how I missed you" He stated
"What happened to you darling? You look a bit disoriented."
"You wouldn't believe the day I've had"
"Oh, well let us go inside tell me all about it!"
He followed his wife into the house. As he stepped inside he was greeted with that familiar scent he was so accustomed to. Oh how lucky he is to have escaped death. He may have never seen his beautiful wife, or his familiar home again. The two sat on the couch as he told his wife everything that had happened in today's events his wife close to tears.
"This whole endeavor made me realize so many things" He told her
"Oh, really? Like what?"
"Like how much I love you. How lucky I am to even be here with you right now. How lucky I am . to even be in this world. I was so close to death, but here I am, with you, right now. / The world is unbelievably beautiful, but if you stop for even just a second who knows what / might happen. I was so close to losing you, and anything I've ever loved."
"I love you too darling, more than you could even imagine. I'm so sorry, but you need to wake . up."
His eyes shot open, and there he was again. On that bridge that he came to dread more than anything in this whole entire world. Just when he thought everything was going to be alright, he was at a face to face with death once again. Though this time he was sure of one thing. The world was so beautiful, unbelievably amazing, and although he won't get to see it once more. At least he got to stop and smell the flowers.
He could hear the soldiers saying something, but he wasn't paying any attention. He was bracing himself for what might come next it felt like he was standing on the edge for an eternity. But the moment he was waiting for, never came.
"WAKE UP" a mysterious voice announced
Once again he woke, but this time he was surrounded by the sound of beeping, and white walls. He turned his head to see the woman he loved so much.
"You're okay." She said smiling with tears in her eyes.
Just hearing that he knew that indeed everything was going to be okay from here on. He was slightly unsure of what has happened, but he definitely learned a lot from this experience.
