of the particular project. Roles of workers, scope, and requirements of the project, design of the project with consideration of possible errors and omissions, nature of the staff and the available technology are some of the changes managers make in the project when disputes arise (Kikwasi, 2012, p. 55). They have the obligation of categorizing the risk, determining if they are natural, logistic, commercial, financial, social, technical, construction, economic, legal, and political. The operations, demands, supply and regulations of the project are affected by disputes (Dada, 2012, p. 73). Conflicts cause time-related risks to the performance of the project. Some of the effects due to time limitation lead to tightened schedule of the project, introduction of other variations in the design of the project, and reduced satisfaction and interest of the clients on the project. Improper approval of the project is the other side effect that is associated with the alterations that managers make in the implementation phase (Akiner, 2014, p. 6). The quality of the management that is present during the implementation phase, design and coordination of the project determines the success that the project will realize. Therefore, managers often modify their roles to provide standard services.
Apart from time slacks, overrun on cost, total abandonment of projects and litigations are some of the other effects that have been revealed to be associated with disputes and conflicts in commercial projects. The control that managers have on the overall project is affected by clashes that are witnessed in the working environment (Femi, 2014, p. 13). Managers, therefore, remain with a hard time in finding the right and enough workforce that they can work with in accomplishing the project. Managers of projects have the role of ensuring that conflicts do not change the scope of the work in an organization. In cases where the opposite expectations occur, managers are required to have a backup plan that aids in the management of the changes so that they do not affect the operations of the organization. Managers often ensure that the designs are robust enough to withstand any changes that are likely to be experienced in the commercial project (Ogunbayo, 2013, p. 142). On the same note, managers make cost planning of the resources that are provided for the project as they monitor how the funds are used at the same time. The directors ensure that the activities they engage in are reliable and durable and cannot be easily affected by conflicts (Kikwasi, 2012, p. 53). Without consideration of the above factors, managers are faced with the challenges that lead to loss of the essential project characteristics of timeliness, scope, budget constraints and pre-determined goals.
