Do you think the Miranda rights are a good thing? The Miranda Rights You have the right to remain silent and not to talk about anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you can not afford an attorney we will provide for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you? It is important for people who are being questioned to know their Miranda rights. People have the right to remain silent when being questioned by the police. It is important to know your rights before you are questioned by the police, if the police dont read you the Miranda Rights then the evidence that the police found aginst you can not be used against you. You don't know what you can and cannot do when the police are questioning you. There are some countries with habeas corpus, which means that the police cna through you in jail giving you evidence, or telling you why you are in there. You should know your writes because if not you won't know that you can get an attorney, or you have the right to remain silent and get yourself in deeper trouble.
