The Native Americans had many accomplishment and were a lot better at thriving or even surviving than the English colony that settled in Jamestown. The Native Americans domesticated crops and had huge plantations. This allowed them to have food year around and did not have to rely on hunting so strongly. This also allowed them to stay in one place and not have to be nomadic to find food. The Native Americans also had leaders the keep the Tribe in order and lead the people and act almost as a judge. The Native Americans had roles for everyone on the tribe the men hunted and farmed. The women had a different role from taking care of the children gather up thing like berry's and fruits of other kinds and also help out on the farm. All of this comes together to make things work in the tribe and they had all of this figured out. This is what helped the Native Americans thrive not just survive. The Native Americans had rules and laws to keep things in order and to make things work smoothly with out trouble. The rules that helped we things such and What you kill is what you eat this mean nothing is wasted and you wont try to over kill. Also things like don't take what you do not need the Native Americans only took what was needed and left the rest for later use so it was not wasted and the use of the food or whatever it may be was maximized. These were things that made the Natives survive and thrive unlike the English that had a hard time even surviving. The Natives also made weapons such as bow and arrows which they used for hunting they made things like knives, spears, hand axes. The knives, spears, hand axes, and bow and arrows were also used for protection and war. The natives also invented tools for use such as an Axe, hammer used for building the huts they lived in.What I am getting at is how the English want to say that the Natives had no accomplishment and they had rules and laws like this that made them survive. The Natives taught the English how to survive, hunt, and grow crops. The Indians thought that everyone and everything was equal no one was better than the other. The Natives also thought that when something was killed you were brought closer to it through the spirit. The Natives also thought that no one owned anything especially land. The men were the warriors and only the men because the women, children, and elders were not allowed to fight. But when the war raged the Spanish did not care and slaughtered everyone the women, children, and the elders. The Algonquin Indians cultivated a garden of Eden by taking such good care of it. They planted the crop and kept it neat and clean they also tended to it so well that it produced a very fruitful crop.
