This is because children often watch television channels such as Disney, Nicktoons and Nickelodeon where fast food companies use to advertise for childrens meals will request parents to bring them to fast food restaurants such as Burger King (Acosta 2015). For example, children spend more than 7 hours daily beginning at a screen which is bombarded with fast food advertisements that will contribute to expand their waistlines due to request parents to purchase fast food. Thus, the childrens families will dine in at fast food companies frequently.

Secondly, it affects the unhealthy eating habits of the children. Child views greater than ten thousand food advertising annually mainly feature foods have high proportion in fat and sugar as well as poor nutritional value causing that six to eight year olds children trusted that fast foods are healthier than the food in the home from a study by Kirschenbaum (Keller 2009). This will cause the children prefer to eat fast food than other foods because they think that fast food is healthy and it becomes a habit to visit to the fast food restaurants frequently. For example, the children will choose the fast food which always advertised in the advertising if the parents give the children to choose either healthy food such as fruits, vegetables and cereals or the fast food which is actually unhealthy to the children who are growing up. Thus, children are having an unhealthy eating habits. Arcan, Bruening & Story (2013) stated television viewing among young children is importantly linked with increased consumption of fast food, increased food requests seen on the television and great positive attitude toward fast food. This is because the televised advertisement of fast food that viewed by the children may influence the food preferences of children to choose fast food. For example, children will request parents to purchase the advertised food even though it is unhealthy. Thus, eating habits of the children are influenced due to unhealthy diet. The food intake of the children increased by food advertising in the television (Arcan, Bruening & Story 2013). The children consumed more unhealthy food who exposed to unhealthy food advertising when watching a childrens cartoon channel than the children who watched the channel without advertisement of food. For example, a children exposed to advertisement will prefer fast food when watching cartoon channel. Thus, eating habits of the children is influenced by the
