The personality disorder usually develops in the teenage years or early middle age, when people was established relationship with others, pursuing knowledge ,developed their career and generally "build equity" in their lives. As a result of providing inadequate or inappropriate behaviors during this life stage has affected for a lifetime. In addition, the individual with personality disorder is difficult to control their emotions and impulses that will lead to them undergoing enormous pain and have major difficulty distress at home, work, and in relationships.
The individual with personality disorders will accompany with alcohol abuse, drug abuse, sexual dysfunction, generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depressive disorder, eating disorder, and suicidal thoughts or attempts. For example, according to the related the report, most of the prisoners have antisocial personality disorder due to its behavioral characteristics such as substance abuse, hostility and vagrancy that can guide them to criminal behavior.
Besides that, other social consequences of personality disorders include child abuse as applying insulting, overly emotional, or irresponsible parenting styles for raising children. This can lead to their children have physical and mental illness in the growth process. When the negative extremity of a mood swing or they often have the feelings of depression that will lead to them engaging in self-destruction and unsafe behavior such as substance abuse, sexual promiscuity, suicidal thoughts and attempted suicide. In addition, they reject to receive treatment that can lead to decline in physical and mental health.
Personality disorder will influence the closer people. In their fixed pattern lead to them can't cope with various situations, in contrast, other people cope with them. Thus, this will lead to tension or pressure situation on their relationship among family , friends and in their workplace. Meanwhile, when other people can't help them to cope their problems, the person with the personality disorder will become indignant, irritated, annoyed, discouraged, or sad. Thus , this will create a negative consequence of interaction, lead to the person providing inadequate or inappropriate behaviors until their needs are met.
Furthermore, according to the research carried out by the psychologists Belinda Board and Katarina Fritzon at the University of Surrey, UK, has shown some light on personality disorders and bullying in the workplace. Workplace bullying can be executed in many ways, such as overworking employees, failure to access job opportunities, isolating an employee, giving them the silent treatment, never appreciate for their job and repeatedly reminding employees of past failures. Thus, this will lead to the individual with personality disorder will feel stress that they maybe attempt suicide. For example, in fact, inseki-jisatsu "responsibility-driven" suicides in Japan are closely tied with business. According to government figures, "fatigue from work" and health problems, including work-related depression, were prime motives for suicides and accounted for 47 percent of the suicides in Japan in 2008.
