Egypt and Zhou had a great natural resource which benefits the environment in its own way. It doesn't only help with food, but also water. Egypt's had Nile river while Zhou had Yangtze river. Both rivers are well known for its length and are on top five rivers in the world.
Zhou dynasty contains Yangtze river, which is third longest river in the world and the longest river in China. It was a great resource for trading, traveling, transportation, exporting and importing goods, etc... It provided water for agriculture. They used irrigation system to plant crops. The major crops gown were rice, wheat, barley, etc... The rice was grown in south, more agriculture was done in south than north. Southern part of china could produce twice as food as northern part did. Sometimes Yangtze river politically became boundary between north and south China. Many battles took place along the river, the popular one among all was Battle of the Red Cliffs. Egypt and Zhou had a similar social structure. Zhou dynasty used Mandate of Heaven where king could rule as long he satifies the gods and the people, if he didn't than the people had the right to over throw him. Kings and Nobles were on the highest level, Lords and Warriors were the middle class, Peasants were the lower class. Kings and Nobles were on the highest level because they were well known and had a lot more resources than others. Zhou dynasty and United States social structure are similar. President on top, Warriors next, and Homeless are the lower class. They contributed Mechanical clock, the way to harvest silk, the wheel, etc...
Egypt also had a great resource, Nile river was also well known for its length. It's the longest river in the world. It help produce food, and was very useful when the lakes dried out. Egyptians had a risk of disease from the Nile river. Such as waterbone, malaria, etc... The Nile river also contained crocodiles, hippos and venom snakes. They had to be carefull all the times. The Nile river was also usefull for trading, transportation. They used to trasnport things to upper Egypt. Egyptians developed watercraft which helped them with transporting goods. The Egyptians had a dark skin and dark hair. The upper class consisted of Pharaoh and his family, rich landowners, and priests. Traders, Merchants and Craftsmen belonged to middle class. Unskilled workers belonged to lower class and worked on the fields of farms. Slaves were prisoners that the Egyptians took when they conquered foreign countries. Womens had right to divorce their husbands and the elder son would be the head of the family. They believed in many goddesses. People mainly prayed to sun god for good harvest.
Nile river and Yangtze river totally changed the country in many ways. It helped the country increase its economy, Agriculture, Water, Transportation, Trade, Travel, etc... It is important to compare this two civilization so we could have an idea or knowledge and better understanding of this two civilizations.
