What issues that rose in the Election was business power. One of the main issues about this presidential election main issue was the cooperate centering because the influence on social and political life was huge in the early twentieth century. The president candidates knew about the business and wealth combining was a big economic problem around industries.
Monopoly was a huge breakdown in the democratic field and a sign that the American political institutions needed to be restored. The Bull Moose party saw a growing relation between political structures and social economic status and dreamed that political innovation would grow more level with society. Bull Moose fought the battles in the political field, courts, and legislature. The answer that each candidate produced went to the soul of American social and economic life.
William Howard Taft was a republican candidate, who was one of the less important ones that didn't receive much attention. His supports went to High imports Tariffs, Limitation on child and female labor, and workmen's compensation laws. He thought that our judges needed to use more power who was elected in office.
Woodrow Wilson wanted more freedom in the antitrust legislation. He wanted monopolies the be completely gone and thinks that big businesses decrease new opportunities for the middle and lower class americans. He thinks that a small government and small businesses would make things easier for the American people.
Eugene Debbs who was a Socialist promotes buying railroads and utilities, did not want tariffs, shorter word days, minimum wage, graduate income tax, and insurance for unemployment or accidents in the workplace and death.
Theodore Roosevelt was close in the run up against Woodrow Wilson, and created the progressive party or "Bull Moose Party.' His platformed mainly consist of new nationalism that supports federal child labor law, federal workman's compensation, rules of labor and minimum wage for women.
