What education means for me? Essay

What education means for me?, 504 words essay example

Essay Topic: education

I would like to start off with who I am. My name is Naima Kabir. I am the youngest of four daughters to immigrant parents. They escaped from a third world country to give their children an opportunity for a better education. My drive and passion to constantly educate myself and further my education comes from my parents. At a young age my parents have always told me that beauty isn't just on the surface but is skin deep and there is nothing better in life then getting an education. My parents taught me how interesting and rewarding education can be and how it would open amazing doors for me. With that type of wisdom, Graduate school has always been my number one and only option. I will be the first in my family to pursue and achieve a graduate degree. Watching my parents struggle throughout life without a higher level of education has extremely encouraged me to attend Graduate school. I want to make them proud but also I want to be successful so I can give my parents, myself and my future children a better life. Attending Graduate school can be intimidating but I want to take the chance. I have learned in life that one must take a leap of faith because the things you are most scared of are usually the most meaningful and rewarding. I believe achieving a MBA at Saint Leo University is going to be worthwhile for me because there is no other place that will allow me to expand my knowledge, gain a new prospective on life and build lasting relationships. I currently work at Saint Leo University and have gained an amazing support system which I will not find anywhere else. Saint Leo University and my MBA will allow me to discover myself and find my niche in the world. The reason I am driven to attend Graduate school and receive a MBA is because I want to make something out of myself and create a better life for the future. An MBA will allow me to grasp opportunities that will help move my life in a positive direction. I want to attend Saint Leo University so I can create positive memories and take what I have learned and apply it to my life. As I look back at my time when receiving my undergraduate degree I realize I did not take my parents wisdom entirely to heart. I was young and had the best intentions but I did get side tracked at certain moments. I see the difference between earning my undergraduate degree and my graduate degree was my lack of experience in my early adulthood. As I left the nest to carve my own path I was hit with the realization how serious I need to get to achieve my dream of attending Graduate school and earning a MBA I realize no matter what happens in life my education from Saint Leo University will constantly drive me to a productive member of society.
