Do you know your miranda rights? These rights are very important for all United States citizens to know. Without these rights people would not be able to do anything We have the right to remain silent. The right to have a lawyer present during questioning is another important right. The right to not answer any of the questions asked lets a person say or not say what they want. The reading of the miranda rights let the person in custody know what they're rights are.
We have the right to remain silent. Remaining silent during questioning lets a person hear what the officer has to say. If I wasn't silent during a questioning I would not know what was going on. This right is important to know because I might miss something that was said and not be able to answer the question because i didnt hear it Without this right we wouldn't understand why we were being held. Other than remaining silent, we have the right to a lawyer during questioning.
The right to have a lawyer present during questioning is another important right. This right states that you can have a lawyer listen to the questioning. If I was being questioned I would want someone to listen to all of the questions and answers. The lawyer can be living proof of what was said. The lawyer can say whether this right was read to you or not. Without this right read people might only hear the police officer's side of the story and believe them. If their is a lawyer he can tell the real story of what was asked and answered. Having a lawyer is important but so is the right not to answer any of the questions.

Some questions can make a person uncomfortable, and say things that aren't true. If I felt uncomfortable while being questioned I wouldnt want to answer that question. Not answering a question is a choice, and it should stay that way. Without this right read to a person, they would have answer all questions, even if they felt uncomfortable answering them. Not answering a question is an important right and should be read to everyone being questioned by police.
